Biography
Sonya Calooy is a transformational coach, learning strategist, and speaker who blends neuroscience, humor, and heart to help leaders “unleash the leader within.” She is the founder of SpiritHawk Coaching & Consulting, where she partners with executives, teams, and organizations across the U.S. and Europe to strengthen leadership presence, align strategy with culture, and foster resilience in times of change.
With over 25 years of experience in leadership and talent development—including senior roles at Shell and Baker Hughes and senior consulting work with Fortune 500 companies such as Meta and American Express—Sonya brings both corporate expertise and entrepreneurial creativity to every stage. She holds the Associate Certified Coach (ICF) and Certified Professional in Talent Development (ATD) credentials, along with multiple certifications in business and executive coaching.
Drawing on her background as a stand-up comic and improv facilitator, Sonya is the creator of the Improv for Better Coaching™ workshop and the LAUGHS Method™, a brain-based process that teaches leaders and teams to shift stress into presence, creativity, and connection. Her workshops are known for being equal parts “serious science” and “ridiculous fun,” leaving participants with practical tools and renewed energy.
